Mr Muir has contributed to the SWIFFT national trial on the management of scaphoid fractures. The paper has been accepted by the Lancet and will hopefully be published soon.
The trial was masterminded by Professor Joe Dias from Leicester and examined 439 patients with an acute scaphoid fracture, studying the relative risks and benefits of early fixation with a screw when compared with plaster cast treatment.
